An outdoor kitchen with a view
Shared by the two family yurts, with a commanding view of the valley, is a large safari-style outdoor kitchen.
Here you will find everything you need for your holiday, including cutlery and crockery for adults and children, pots and pans, utensils, tea and hand towels, a gas hob and barbeque, coolbox and bins for recycling food and waste.
Because you don’t want to rush around looking for the shops when you arrive, there’s also tea, coffee and milk, and eco-friendly washing-up liquid. Plus some fresh eggs from the chickens to give you a taste of yurt living in écovallée.
Very locally sourced materials
The outdoor kitchen was made from the land around it. The platform was dug out of the hillside by hand and is held in place by acacia posts from the woods. The frame is also acacia, sourced within 100 metres.
To keep the environmental impact of the outdoor kitchen to a minimum, it is made almost entirely from recycled or reconditioned materials. The solar-powered fairy lights that come on at dusk are one essential luxury. And the fridge-freezer behind Reception, powered by 100% renewable electricity, will keep your food fresh, your drinks cold, and make sure you never run out of freezer blocks for picnics.
Freebies and extras
If you’re staying for one week or more, a Welcome Picnic will be waiting for you when you arrive. This includes fresh bread, cheeses, pâté (or houmous for vegetarians), a bottle of good local wine and a home-made tart. (If you’re staying for less than a week but like the sound of this, you can order a Welcome Picnic for an extra €20.)
